Since introducing our re-usable tote bags, we've been thinking about ways we can further improve this side of our business. While reducing single use retail bags is a start. Helping to drive change in our customers' habits we feel is the next step.

In an ideal world, customers would always bring their own bag when shopping. We know this is not always possible and that our current system in providing free re-usable tote bags doesn't really encourage that.

We are now introducing a new shop bag initiative. Firstly, we have improved our re-usable tote bags, which are now made from RPET (a fabric made from repurposed plastic waste).

Secondly, in an effort to drive change customer habits and encourage people to re-use our bags or better yet, bring their own, our Lo-Fi Shop Bags will no longer be free of charge.

If you are needing a bag with your purchase, Lo-Fi Shop Bags will be available for $2. We will then be donating the $2 in full to charity, rotating between different charity organisations quarterly.

Our main goal is to reduce the number of unnecessary bags in circulation. But, in the instances where someone does need a bag, that money is at least going to a good cause. We see that as a small win in either instance. 

Over time, we hope this will encourage our customers to consider bringing a bag from home before shopping with us.
