Lo-Fi Radio #009 is brought to you by LA based singer/songwriter, Joyce Wrice. Growing up listening to the likes of Brandy, Mariah Carey, Missy Elliott, Timbaland, and Usher, Joyce remembers mimicking the vocal stylings of Tamia from a stolen copy of her father's CD collection. With that wealth of 90s era musical influences, Joyce has gone on to effortlessly create a unique, warm sultry sound reminiscent of that time.
"I grew up in San Diego, CA obsessing over west coast rap music, 90s early 2000 R&B, and the LA rap scene around 2009. This mix is me paying homage to the music I enjoyed listening to growing up, the music I enjoy listening to now and to the talented artists in my community that continue to inspire me and create feeeel gud music for my soul!"
To coincide with the mix, Lo-Fi has worked with Joyce Wrice on a collaborative T-Shirt, taking influence from the same throwback rap & R&B era, and of course Joyce's love of dogs.
